It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I extend a warm welcome from the Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies. As the Executive Director of this remarkable institution, I am honored to lead a dynamic and ambitious institute with boundless potential. We stand at the threshold of an exciting new chapter in the Institute's history, and I am thrilled to be at the helm for this journey.
My unwavering commitment is to steer the Institute towards an extraordinary future, building upon our existing strengths, intensifying our focus on enriching the quality of teaching and learning, and propelling the Institute toward excellence in all facets. I pledge to collaborate closely with our esteemed Board of Trustees, our dedicated Executive Management team, our accomplished Faculties, our talented students, our esteemed Alumni, and our valued partners to effect a transformation in learning, elevate aspirations, and expand opportunities for all our students.
Our primary objective is to ensure that every student is afforded the finest opportunities and experiences during their academic journey, enabling them to realize their full potential and equipping them for the challenges of tomorrow. We are resolute in our belief that each student, regardless of their abilities, is entitled to a high-quality education.
At the Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies, we stand as a beacon of research, teaching, training, and leadership development. Our guiding philosophy is grounded in the transformative power of strategic thinking, aimed at reshaping thought patterns to impact the world. We firmly hold the belief that to change the world, we must first embark on a transformation of our thinking.
We will launch a classic mentorship program matching students with industry leaders to receive tailored career coaching, networking and personal growth guidance. Via regular check-ins over 6-12 months, mentors will empower mentees to unlock their potential, develop leadership skills and amplify their impact.
In line with our mission of nurturing global leaders, we will expand access to our transformative development programs by establishing new JAGILS centers in Nigeria, Kenya and Ethiopia, building diverse and inclusive campuses that uplift local communities.
We will host an engaging seminar series open to the public, helmed by faculty and visiting diplomats, exploring pressing topics like ethical governance, reconciliation frameworks, sustainability solutions and visionary leadership practices from around the world.
Through a virtual exchange initiative, our students and faculty will collaborate with peers at partner global institutions on collective projects related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, enabling rich intercultural dialogue, knowledge exchange and lasting connections.
