Ms. Mabel A. Abayie is Founder and President of SetApartGirl Ghana. Mabel holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree at Central University, Mataheko Campus.
She had her second cycle education at Labone Secondary School (as it was then known). She emerged as the Senior Girl’s prefect and president of the Child’s Right Club. She was recognized by the then headmistress Mrs. Doris Agyekum as the most exceptional leader of that year group.
Mabel has at heart, volunteerism and advocacy. In 2011, She created a team that taught the 30 human rights found in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to students at Kumasi Anglican Senior High School. As part of her volunteerism, she collaborated with the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to organize the very first human rights camp for Junior High School students. She was selected by Ms. Anna Bossman, then commissioner of CHRAJ, to write a chapter on Human Rights Number 26, the right to education, to be published in her book on Human Rights in Ghana. She was the communique reader for 2006 Child Rights Camp and conference in Kumasi.
Mabel is currently helping young ladies in Accra, Ghana to accept themselves and be confident enough to not feel pressured by popular culture. She started SetApartGirl Ghana in 2014 during her final year in KNUST. SetApartGirl Ghana mentors over 70 girls on sexual health and making wise choices. She holds conferences for girls on the same topic as well.
Mabel is by day a part time French teacher and by night a final year law student. She is an entrepreneur and has a translation and interpretation company.
Mabel is known for her ability to take on challenges and familiarize with the solutions to those challenges. She calls herself a bird because of her love for thinking outside the box.
She is a woman of Faith and believes with God nothing will be impossible for her to achieve.
