Emmanuel Kofi Danso BA MPhil is a registered Mental Health Nurse from June 2008 till date involved in both inpatient, community mental health and mental health promotion.
Emmanuel served as the Chief Quality Improvement Coordinator at Maamobi General Hospital overseeing the hospital’s various quality assurance and improvement activities. In addition to his clinical duties, Emmanuel provides ongoing psychological support and has organized career counselling seminars as a graduate Guidance and Counselling Psychologist. He also taught Mental Health related courses at Western Hills School of Nursing, Ofankor from August 2012 to May 2018.
Emmanuel is a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow.In 2015, Emmanuel also took part in the first round of SawaSawa Change Making program in South Africa organized by AFS International.
Emmanuel served as President for Junior Chamber International, Accra Royale in 2017 after serving as the Executive Vice President and Secretary in 2016 and 2015 respectively. Emmanuel also served as the President of the Accra Chapter of AFS Intercultural Exchange Program.
He also served as a Board member for Dear Psychconsult, an initiative created to promote mental health and Director for Creative Living Foundation – an advocacy group that provides emotional support for people with mental conditions, HIV/AIDS, children, women, aged and the vulnerable within the society.
Emmanuel also volunteers for Sickle Life, Elite Nursing Agency and Konotey-Ahulu Genetic Epidemiology Sickle Cell Foundation (KAGE). Currently in the United States of America Emmanuel volunteers for Gilchrist Immigration Resource Center.
Emmanuel holds an MPhil Guidance and Counselling, a Bachelor of Arts Psychology with Political Science and a diploma in Mental Health and Psychiatry Nursing.
