Mark Zion is an Associate Professor at Tama University’s School of Global Studies, Fujisawa, Japan.  He teaches Global Issues, Studies in Environmentalism, and Worldviews.  Since 2003, he has participated in development projects with students for Habitat for Humanity, Hope International, and UNICEF, working in most countries in Asia building affordable houses and digging wells.  He is founder and CEO of Round Earth Crafts, a non-profit organization that helps women in developing countries sell their handcrafts.  He has lived in Nicaragua, People’s Republic of China, and Japan.  He continues to study solutions to poverty.
