Engineer Anke Weisheit is Co-Founder and Chair Innovation & Business Management Pharm-Biotechnology and Traditional Medicine Centre (PHARMBIOTRAC) at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). She is a generalist working in the field of private sector development, business planning, advisory services to small and medium agro-herbal enterprises, value chain analysis and empowerment, large, multi-country consortia project development and implementation, M&E, curriculum development and capacity building, institutional development, partnership and memorandum of understanding development.
She specialized in Innovation platform and knowledge sharing, institution building, agro-herbal product value addition, value chain development and small-scale agro-herbal-processing, Traditional Health Practitioners – Academia linkages and cooperation, medicinal species conservation through sustainable use and domestication, indigenous knowledge and practices in development.
Engineer Anke Weisheit holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Trading, Agro-Business marketing and management from Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Bernburg, Germany. She also holds a master’s in agriculture (M Agr.) Agricultural Science and Resource Management in the Tropics and Subtropics from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University, Bonn, Germany. Anke Weisheit further obtained Agro-chemistry and Plant Protection Engineering certificate from Engineer School of Agro-chemistry & Plant Protection, Halle, Germany.
Engineer Anke Weisheit worked in many capacities including International Consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Director, Production, and Innovations.
