The Grant Writer is primarily responsible for developing, managing, writing and reporting grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations. Candidate will persuasively communicate JAGILS’s mission and programs to diverse portfolio of funders. The Grant Writer will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a professional and resourceful demeanor, the ability to work both independently and as a team player, and a desire to take initiative and manage numerous projects. The Grant Writer assembles and submits grant requests, establish and maintain consistent professional relationships with stakeholders on all levels, conduct prospect research, and manages a challenging calendar of submissions and other deadlines.

  • A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants, a Bachelor’s degree, and 3 years of relevant experience are required.
  • Must be able to craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Thoroughly reviews award terms and conditions and coordinates the acceptance of awards.
  • Monitors achievement toward grant goals to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations.
  • Alerts program staff to any required reports to funders, collects data on funded projects, and assists with report development and submission.
  • Ensures that program reports, outcomes and deliverables are submitted on time.
  • Executes award closeout and maintains grant audit files.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential.

Coordinator, UN Sustainable Development Goals

The SDG Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project throughout the project management cycle, including planning, implementation, coordination, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. S/he is expected to provide both substantive and administrative support to the project.

The Coordinator is accountable for the overall management of the project and for the delivery of results (outputs) specified in the project document, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.

  • Under the guidance of the Project Board, take a lead to build consensus among the project stakeholders on key results, expected outcomes and impacts of the project.
  • Prepare and submit Annual work plan, Semi-annual workplans, Semi-annual and Annual reports, and project Final report in a timely manner.
  • Implement the project activities and monitor the progress against the initial project quality criteria and M&E indicators.
  • Monitor project financial resources and accounting to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
  • Provide substantive guidance and support to relevant areas of SDG implementation, where needed.
  • Provide guidance to the responsible parties on results-based project management.
  • Manage and monitor project risks, issues, and lessons learned, and regularly update the Project Board on the status of risks.

    • At least 3 years of direct experience in project management.
    • Prior experience working with or for a government organization is an asset.
    • Prior experience in areas related to national implementation of global frameworks similar to SDGs is an asset.
  • Language and Computer skills
    • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
    • Excellent command of MS Office.

Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships

Reports to: CPO

The Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships works closely with Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Programs, and is directly responsible for all development initiatives, building strategic partnerships at the local, national and global levels in support of Jagils mission and in the creation of a world-class dual leadership educational program.

Senior Project Manager

Reports to: EX Dir

As a senior project manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a number of mid-level employees within the Institute. You will work closely with Director of Programs to achieve productivity goals, increase revenue, and contribute to the company’s overall success. As a key player in the management department, you will ensure that all assigned tasks are completed on a regular basis and that all company rules and regulations are enforced.   • Collaborate with executive-level managers, and provide relevant feedback regarding the performance of individual employees and the department.

Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies is looking for an editor to oversee its suite of newsletters, which reach more than five hundred thousand subscribers monthly.

  • Oversee the production, editing, story placement and language of JAGIL’s newsletters.
  • Work with JAGIL’s editorial and product teams to better optimize newsletters—from launching new products to A/B testing subject lines and design templates.
  • Initiate creative campaigns to grow our e-mail listserv and launch new newsletters that expand beyond our existing audience and build niche online communities.
  • Produce creative initiatives to boost revenue via newsletters—be it through revenue shares, sponsored newsletters, paid subscriptions or e-commerce.
  • Oversee reporting and analysis of newsletter performance.
  • Foster strategic newsletter partnerships with external brands.
  • Conceptualize special newsletters around large-scale events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to analyze our newsletter subscriber base and determine how to best serve active users, reactivate dormant users and maintain subscriber hygiene.
  • Strong news judgment and comes from a journalism background.
  • Has a proven ability to optimize newsletters and grow audiences via email.
  • Familiarity with email delivery platforms, CMS and analytics tools like Mailchimp, Salesforce, WordPress and Google Analytics.
