
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
It is designed for social workers, nurses, special needs teachers, GP practice counsellors, primary child mental health workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists who work with children or adolescents with mental health problems. It may be of particular interest to recent graduates of social or behavioral sciences by providing a sound knowledge base and professional training in the area of child and adolescent mental health.
- Disorder-specific information relating to presenting features and diagnosis.
- An understanding on how the disorder will impact on the child or young person.
- Low level strategies that can be safely utilised by non-healthcare professionals to support young people experiencing these difficulties.
- Tools to identify risk and when additional support is required.

This certificate can be completed in as little as 6 Months.
The programme will be delivered through lectures, group discussions, practical demonstrations, video presentations, practical and experiential exercises, case studies, and role-plays. Students will be assessed through written assignments, projects, oral presentations, and videotaped counselling project/examination and online formatting

Upon completion of the certificate, students will:
- Students will be able to utilize their acquired knowledge effectively in psychology in general and specifically in psychology.
- Students will understand the development and the scope of practice of child psychology in the world
- Students will demonstrate competency in the use of Psychological theories, life span development, and biological basis of human behavior and theories of personality in their application.
- Students will acquire practical aspects and competency in the use of various counselling methods, counselling skills, group facilitation process with children.
- Students will be able to recall, apply and demonstrate foundational knowledge in research methods and basic grounding in statistical enquiry.
- Students will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of ethics and values in health care practice and follow the set standards and codes in practice in light of their studies.
- Students will be able to demonstrate multiple self-help and self-improvement skills that are obtained from the study.

Tuition for certificate programs is $560. Tuition for the Diploma programs is $900 and Tuition for Adv. Diploma programs is $1350. A one-time, non-refundable, application fee of $50 – and a Technology fee of $100 – are also required.
After paying the application fee of $50, students pay a deposit half payment upon acceptance or conditional acceptance to the program. Students then make monthly equal payments of the balance, which includes the technology fee of $100
